A Highly Respectable Widow

by Melinda McRae

Beautiful widow Katherine Mayfield lives in seclusion in the country with her son Robbie. Rakish womanizer Lord Knowlton encounters the mother and son on a visit to his estate. Intrigued by the beautiful Katherine, he applies all his efforts to convince her to become his mistress. Horrified at her weakness to his appeal, but determined to avoid his entreaties, Katherine decides she must swallow her pride and secure a better future for her son by turning to her late husband's family. When she abruptly disappears, Knowlton is chagrined at having driven her away, and wishes he could try again to capture her attention.
