When the circus owned by her uncle, Mitch Brooks, arrived at Broadwater Park for a winter season, Cara looked forward to renewing her acquaintance with Lord Broadwater, who had always welcomed their stay near his home. But the kindly old man that she had known was now dead and his successor, Tyler Moncrieff, had inherited none of his great-uncle’s charm.
