The Wild Marauder

by Ann Barker

Everyone in the neighbourhood knows that Dora Parrish and Charlie, Lord Yelden, are the perfect couple. But when it seems that Charlie's head has been turned by the London scene, Dora's younger sister Fenella decides to remind him of what he is missing. Her solution is to ask a stranger, Mr Giles Beville, nicknamed Bev, to flirt with Dora under Charlie's nose. The plan succeeds and Charlie proposes to Dora, but soon Fenella wonders whether her move was a wise one for Charlie risks everything, including his very home, to feed his gambling habit. One disaster after another reveals Charlie's true character. Can there be love if there is no trust?
