Cathy's boyfriend Mike never seems to have enough time for her, so she decides to visit her relatives over winter vacation. While visiting a graveyard of Revolutionary War British soldiers, Cathy encounters the ghost of Edward. Cathy is inextricably drawn to him and, as they meet on beautiful snowy days, they fall deeply in love. At times, Edward takes Cathy back to his world, a world filled with magnificent dances and romantic horseback rides through the beautiful English countryside. He begs her to stay there with him, and Cathy, torn by her love, must decide whether to follow her head or follow her heart.
