The witcher

by Joan Weir

Twelve-year-old Lion is in trouble. First, he has to spend his holiday with his lawyer dad and sister Bobbi in a remote gold-rush town. Then, his dad expects him to ride a horse named Raj, and Lion doesn't like horses - almost as much as horses don't like Lion. To complicate matters, Lion is reluctantly drawn into a mystery involving his dad's client - an orphaned young "witcher" who can find buried gold.
