The Abbey Governess

by Rosemary Craddock

Anne Clifford arrives at Thornby Abbey in the autumn of 1826 to take up the position of governess to Colonel Ryder's two daughters. Her predecessor has mysteriously disappeared and it is obvious from the start that some malicious person is watching her. The Abbey is occupied by an unhappy family where feuds have smouldered for years. Anne grows to love her employer, but then there is a sudden death in the house. Everyone appears to have a motive and opportunity to commit the crime.
