An Irritating Man (Men at Work)

by Lass Small

IT WAS ENOUGH TO DRIVE A SANE WOMAN MAD ... John Peal, irritating John Peal, was back in Indiana and courting Talullah Metcalf, teacher and self-confessed spinster. That suited the town matchmakers just fine. Everyone liked Talullah, and John was Tarkington's own star, back from a successful sojourn as a Hollywood writer. Talullah, on the other hand, was furious. She did not need a husband, especially one who seemed to have chosen as his mission in life a never-ending assault on her sanity. His teasing she could take, but her own inexplicable fantasies...! If anything would bring him success, it would be her own crazy dreams!
