A Stranger's Touch

by Sophie Weston

Cindy Masters had a successful modelling career in her mid teens, before opting to withdraw to her grandfather's farm in England aged 18, to care for her cousins---anything to escape being permanently caught up in her mother's promiscuous jet-setting and shallow world. Her peace of mind though, was short-lived once foreign correspondent Saul Gonzago moved into the village; brash and insensitive, he never the less aroused feelings that Cindy found distinctly threatening. Torn by her reaction to him, following an unexpected night of love with Saul, which saw her innocence a thing of the past, her fear of becoming like her mother galvanised Cindy into beating a hasty retreat to Venice, never thinking Saul would follow her some five years later, when at 24, she meets him again unexpectedly. Back in her mother's shallow lifestyle, she's now getting back into modelling and about to conquer the world of high-fashion design, as a new protegee of her mother's latest husband; a world-famous designer himself. Saul of course, believes the false rumours flying around about an affair between Cindy and her stepfather and he's set on revenge and humiliation towards the hapless Cindy.....
