Expecting: baby cover

Expecting: baby

by Jennifer Mikels

OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES I know how hard it's been on my mom - being alone and pregnant. She thinks she can do everything herself, that she doesn't need a man. But once I'm born, Mommy's not going to get much rest. I'm going to want all her attention...besides, I'd sure like a daddy. Yesterday, I heard her talking to Rick Sloan, our mysterious new neighbor. He sounded so nice...and if my mommy's raised heartbeat was any way to judge, he's pretty cute, too. All I really want is for her to be happy...and I'll do anything to help out.
