The Phantom of the Muppet Theater

by Ellen Weiss

As the Muppets are preparing for a show at the Muppet Theater, strange things begin to happen: Miss Piggy's wardrobe moves, Scooter finds a mysterious note in his pocket, Fozzie Bear is pulled from a hole in the floor, and a flashlight is handed to Gonzo from out of nowhere. The thought of a ghost in the theater scares the performers, but Kermit insists the show must go on. During the show, Gonzo is shot from a cannon and gets caught in ropes above the stage. Once the show is over, the Muppets try to save Gonzo, when they see a shadowy man rescuing Gonzo. It turns out to be the ghost of John Stone, who built the theater and performed on its stage. The Muppets agree to let him live in the theater, and he agrees to come to the aid of the cast whenever he is needed.
